PictureSMS is the premier application for Treo that utilizes picture caller ID on incoming SMS. It implements effective and easy-to-use user interface
for sending and receiving text messages while being fashionable and attractive at the same time. Treo’s built-in messaging application is so bear and
really basic, so it’s becoming boring most of the time. PictureSMS provides everything what the built-in has plus tons of more new cool and useful
features. Picture caller ID, MP3 message tone, SMS blocking, Text Scheduler, Memo and text file utilization and a lot more. This is the best
replacement SMS application for Treo.

Text Scheduler is one of the main features of PictureSMS. It transforms the typical SMS outbox to an automated outbox. In a typical outbox, you
compose an SMS, then save it. And if you want to send it, you have to manually do it. In Text Scheduler, you compose an SMS, either save it or
schedule it. And it will automagically send the SMS on your defined date and time.

FEATURES:

• Picture SMS Caller ID
• Built-in SMS Scheduler
• WAV/MP3 message tone (requires Pocket Tunes)
• SMS chat mode design
• Option to block unwanted SMS or sender
• SMS backup solution
• SMS Statistics (Incoming, outgoing, blocked SMS count)
• Export SMS to Memo (For viewing your SMS on your PC thru Hotsync)
• Export SMS to text file (For printing your SMS on your PC)
• Option to suppress SMS popup
• Utilizes the Treo built-in Memo and Address Book/Contacts
• Test the media setting before enabling it
• Dial the number of the sender directly from PictureSMS
• Better SMS forwarding implementation
• Unlimited multiple recipients (Send to Many)
• Add a new contact in Address Book directly from PictureSMS
• Character and SMS counter
• Send and receive unlimited SMS length
• Intuitive interface
• Option to save all incoming SMS to Memo in real-time
• Can work with other ringtone manager (LightWav, CallFilter, Ringo, etc)
• Safety feature on sending to many recipients
• Option to automatically disable keyguard when an SMS has been received

the rebellion is crushed!

the empire strikes back and will continue to do so...

it's quite funny that we equate the story of palm and microsoft as the mobile OS version of the intergalactic soap opera of starwars. MS being the
darkside and the empire while palm being the great jedi council and its academy.

in the past few years, the sith and thus the empire have virtually crushed the jedi and have even successfully turned it into the darkside as well.
but there was a glimmer of hope. luke and lea skywalker or, as i would like to analogize as the symbian OS movement. for a time it was great. nokia,
SE and company were whipping the emipre's tail even though even at the earliest, some of their allies tuned tail and went to the darkside (samsung
and motorola quickly come to mind), still nokia and SE held the symbian front, having the great rebellion a fighting chance since the jedi (palm) all
but abandoned the cause.

but something quite unexpected happened. the deathstar has been reborn! it started with WM 5 then the deathstar version 2.0or WM 6! it readily crushed
every other OS in its wake! and at the same time plunged the jedi even further into obscurity. but wait! something became amiss! one of the great
leaders of the rebellion has been corrupted! yes, ladies and gentlemen, SE is now the newest recruit of the empire, dealing a deadly blow into the
symbian faction which, to my opinion, renders the credebility of the symbian OS questionable since one of its main proponent have decreased support
for it.

looks like the return of the jedi wasn't all that successful. they should have made sure that the deathstar and its further incarnations were wiped
out. in any case, the fight continues. even though it's been a losing war, what with the might of MS in full swing and its determination to the de
facto system in every consumer electronics.

again there is hope (although it's more like grasping at straws at this moment!). linux open moko and nova OS. if any of them can get off the ground
and live up to the hype and exceed the measuring stick that is WM6. don't get me started with android. with the way google has dominated the net,
it's like exchanging an emperor palpatine with another sith lord on the throne.

it's a nice story with the end not so clear.

what do you think?

Click here to view this thread started by arcazrael
